Napoli forward Lorenzo Insigne has confirmed that he wants to sign a new deal and commit his future to the Partenopei.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The club is set to finish second in Serie A this season, with Insigne a key figure in Carlo Ancelotti’s front line.<\/p>\n

  1. Insigne has been with Napoli since the age of 15 but has spent loan spells with\u00a0Cavese, Foggia and Pescara.<\/li>\n

  3. To date, Insigne has won two honours with Napoli: the Coppa Italia and the Supercoppa Italiana.<\/li>\n
  4. The forward has been linked with a move to the Premier League, with both Chelsea and Liverpool reportedly<\/a> interested.<\/li>\n

    Insigne has insisted that he sees his future at the club extending beyond his current contract, which expires in 2022.\u00a0After scoring a 98th-minute match-winning penalty in his side’s 2-1 win over Cagliari, he said:\u00a0“Renewal? I’m waiting for the president.<\/p>\n

    “For my\u00a0part\u00a0there’s maximum availability. We both want to move forward together.\u00a0I hope that the signing of the contract will come soon.<\/p>\n

    “It was important to be clear about going ahead together. There has been misunderstanding but now there is the desire to continue united.”<\/p>\n

    Despite Juventus’ dominance at the top of Serie A, it has been another successful season under new manager Ancelotti.<\/p>\n

    The experienced boss has guided Napoli to a second-place finish after Insigne’s last minute winner against Cagliari left the club 10 points above third-placed Inter Milan with just three games remaining.<\/p>\n

    It means Napoli will play in the Champions League for a fourth successive season and represents their seventh qualification for Europe’s primary club competition since 2011.<\/p>\n

    The next challenge for Insigne, Ancelotti and his squad is how they plan on closing the gap to Juventus who have won eight titles on the bounce.<\/p>\n
