Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has admitted to “unbelievable” interest from a number of players to join the club despite uncertainty over their Champions League future.<\/strong><\/p>\n

United are currently struggling for form and look unlikely to finish in the top four of the Premier League this season.<\/p>\n

  2. Manchester United are currently sixth in the Premier League table, three points behind fourth-place Chelsea with two games left to play<\/li>\n
  3. The Red Devils have won only twice in their past 10 games in all competitions.<\/li>\n
  4. In that time, they were eliminated from the Champions League and FA Cup by Barcelona and Wolverhampton Wanderers respectively.<\/li>\n

    Speaking to reporters<\/a> about his transfer plans for this summer, Solskjaer admitted that the club are planning their long term future around potential Champions League football next season.<\/p>\n

    Whether they get there or not is another question but the former striker has stressed that despite the uncertainty on the club’s European future, both players and agents have approached the club\u00a0\u2013 in their numbers\u00a0\u2013 regarding potential transfers this summer.<\/p>\n

    He said: “In the long term planning we have to think about being in the Champions League next year.<\/p>\n

    “We might not be and you\u2019d be surprised how many players’ agents have been touting, not touting, but telling us their players would love to be a part of Manchester United in the future.<\/p>\n

    “That\u2019s the lure and the potential and size of the club, that we will get back to the good days.<\/p>\n

    “We\u2019ve not got up to the standards we expect but it\u2019s up to me and the club and a season without Champions League who knows but players still want to come to Manchester United and you wouldn\u2019t be surprised by the names that ask.”<\/p>\n

    Two to go<\/strong><\/h2>\n

    After such a fantastic start to his managerial tenure at Manchester United, Solskjaer is now facing the reality of the situation at Old Trafford.<\/p>\n

    Their recent form has been nothing short of abysmal.<\/p>\n

    Recent results have seen them lose to fierce neighbours Manchester City, top-four rivals Arsenal, Wolves twice \u2013 in both the league and FA Cup \u2013 and suffering a 4-0 drubbing away to Marco Silva’s Everton.<\/p>\n

    Chelsea \u2013 who currently sit fourth in the Premier League table \u2013 have a superior goal difference to United, who simply need to pick up all three points in both of their remaining games to give themselves a chance of finishing in the top four.<\/p>\n

    They will visit already-relegated Huddersfield Town before hosting relegation flirters Cardiff City on the last day of the season.<\/p>\n

    Aside from needing to collect all six points, United must hope Chelsea and Arsenal slip-up otherwise Solskjaer’s transfer targets may not be as prestigious as hoped.<\/p>\n
