Juventus-bound Aaron Ramsey’s next appearance will be for a smaller club, according to former Arsenal goalkeeper David Seaman, after Unai Emery confirmed he will not return from injury before the end of the season.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Welshman will be departing the club at the end of the current campaign, having signed a pre-contract with the recently crowned Serie A champions.<\/p>\n

But former Gunners number one Seaman has spoken about Ramsey impending departure from the north London outfit, stressing that the playmaker is leaving the club for a team smaller than Emery’s side.<\/p>\n

“Arsenal will remember Aaron Ramsey with great fondness,” Seaman told talkSPORT<\/a>.\u00a0“He’s a great player and the most frustrating part about all this is he’s playing even better now, and he’s going to leave!<\/p>\n

“It’s the same thing again, another great player is leaving our club to go to another club which is not really as big as Arsenal.<\/p>\n

“For me, it’s so frustrating that they couldn’t do that deal [for a contract extension]. He’ll probably get voted player of the year.”<\/p>\n

Ramsey’s tenure at Arsenal has stretched across 11 years, making the move from Cardiff City in 2008 for \u00a35 million. He has gone on to make 369 appearances for the club in that time, scoring 64 goals.<\/p>\n

However, he won’t be adding to those numbers after it was confirmed today that he will miss the rest of the campaign with a muscular injury, putting an abrupt end to his Arsenal career.<\/p>\n

“We can\u2019t use him, injuries come for players like that and we have players who can play,” said Emery during Wednesday’s press conference ahead of the Europa League final against Valencia.<\/p>\n

“But he was in a good moment when he took this injury. I had a good experience with him, he transmitted his energy and his heart is red like Arsenal. \u2018I wanted to enjoy this with him. I said to him I wanted to do something important with you.”<\/p>\n

The Arsenal manager went on to praise Ramsey’s professionalism despite knowing he would be leaving this summer.<\/p>\n

“Aaron played so many years here, he is so important for the club and the players because he did so much for the new players,” he added.<\/p>\n

“He signed for Juventus but he is still a professional and always fought for the club. \u2018Some other players might stop fighting \u2013 but he loves this club so he stayed 100 per cent. He has a great mentality. I will miss him a lot \u2013 we have good memories.”<\/p>\n
