Former Everton and Manchester United goalkeeper Tim Howard has admitted that he hopes former rivals Liverpool don’t win the Premier League title while he is “still breathing”.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The ex-Toffees number one has commented on Liverpool’s title race, which has entered into the last two games of the domestic season.<\/p>\n

  1. The Reds are currently second in the Premier League table on 91 points, a point behind Manchester City with two games to play.<\/li>\n
  2. Liverpool haven’t won a league title in 29 years.<\/li>\n
  3. They will most likely need to beat both Newcastle United away and Wolverhampton Wanderers at home to give themselves a chance.<\/li>\n
  4. City will need to drop points against either Leicester City or Brighton & Hove Albion to give Jurgen Klopp’s side a shot.<\/li>\n
  5. Howard played for both of Liverpool’s arch-rivals, making 77 appearances for United and 444 showings for the Toffees.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Speaking to reporters<\/a> about the possibility of Liverpool winning the Premier League title this season, Howard couldn’t hide his strong opinions.<\/p>\n

    The American admitted that he truly hopes that Jurgen Klopp’s side doesn’t finish in first place this season, in fact, in any season while he is still alive and well.<\/p>\n

    “I hope Liverpool never win a title while I’m still breathing,” he said.<\/p>\n

    “We have two teams in the form that they’re both in. It’ll come down to the wire. If no one has a slip-up, then City wins.”<\/p>\n

    Howard’s Premier League record<\/strong><\/h2>\n

    You would think that a player who was a part of Manchester United’s set-up for three seasons would have at least one Premier League title under his belt, such is the dominance the club has had throughout the majority of the league’s existence.<\/p>\n

    However, Howard never actually got his hands on a Premier League trophy with United, having to make do with the FA Cup, EFL Cup and FA Community Shield instead.<\/p>\n

    His move to Everton didn’t provide the former USA international with any honours but he did amass an impressive 399 Premier League appearances for both United and Everton throughout his career in England.<\/p>\n

    He did get himself in the 2003\/04 Premier League Team of the Year but that was about it for the shot-stopper, who has made it clear that he wants Liverpool to end up with the same amount of league titles that he ended his career in England.<\/p>\n
