Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has poured cold water on the potential signing of\u00a0Napoli star Lorenzo Insigne.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The diminutive forward has enjoyed another productive season at the\u00a0Stadio San Paolo, provoking interest from the Premier League.<\/p>\n

  1. Insigne has spent his entire career at Napoli – excluding loans – playing 302 times for the club.<\/li>\n

  3. The Italy international was linked with a move to Chelsea last summer, to rejoin former coach\u00a0Maurizio Sarri.<\/li>\n

    Under the guidance of veteran tactician\u00a0Carlo Ancelotti, the 27-year-old has scored 13 goals and registered six assists as Napoli sit second in Serie A.<\/p>\n

    His form has once again sparked rumours of a move to the Premier League, and after the star admitted he could leave Napoli if he receives an ‘offer he can’t refuse<\/a>‘, speculation has intensified.<\/p>\n

    However, one place Insigne will not be pitching up at this summer is Anfield, as Klopp has now ruled Liverpool out of the race for the forward’s signature.<\/p>\n

    “We will not sign Lorenzo Insigne,” he told reporters.<\/p>\n

    “He is a very good player but he has a long-term contract at Napoli. We will not even try it.”<\/p>\n

    With the season nearing its end, the transfer rumour mill is once again in full swing, and Liverpool – as is customary with every big club – have been linked with some of the brightest players across the continent.<\/p>\n

    Despite this, Klopp remained coy about the club’s recruitment policy this summer, hinting there could be one or two ‘improvements’ but that ultimately he is happy with the harmony in his squad.<\/p>\n

    He added: “We will try to improve the team always. We will try it always in training, I think that is the best way to do it.<\/p>\n

    “The team is pretty well balanced. Our plans are not for the public, that\u2019s how it is.<\/p>\n

    “Will it be the biggest transfer window of Liverpool? No, but you\u2019d have been surprised if I said yes.<\/p>\n

    “Our eyes are always open. We always look. What happens if and when but nothing to say in the moment.”<\/p>\n
