Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp believes Simon Mignolet is the best back-up goalkeeper in the Premier League.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Reds have opted to use summer signing Alisson throughout the campaign as they battle with Manchester City at the top of the Premier League.<\/p>\n

  1. Simon Mignolet was introduced to the Premier League when Sunderland signed him from Belgian outfit Sint-Truiden in 2010.<\/li>\n
  2. The Belgian made 101 appearances for the Black Cats before Liverpool spent \u00a39 million to bring him to Anfield in 2013.<\/li>\n
  3. Mignolet has since made 204 appearances for the Reds.<\/li>\n
  4. However, after Loris Karius took his place in goal halfway through last season, the Belgian has been forced to sit out of the Reds first-team.<\/li>\n
  5. Mignolet is yet to make a Premier League appearance this season, but Klopp believes he is in the best back-up goalkeeper in the division.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Responding to previous comments from Liverpool midfielder James Milner regarding Mignolet’s importance within the club set-up, Klopp was quick to agree with his vice-captain.<\/p>\n

    Klopp said<\/a>: “We only have a first XI. The quality in training when all the boys are fit is incredible.<\/p>\n

    \u201cI like really that Milly [Milner] picked Simon. I\u2019m sure he thinks of himself as a number one but he\u2019s the best number two in the Premier League.<\/p>\n

    \u201cHe has improved in the last year because of his professionalism and his attitude. It\u2019s just brilliant.<\/p>\n

    \u201cI\u2019m not in the dressing room constantly but when Milly says something it is 100% true. I\u2019m happy having this quality.”<\/p>\n

    “The best attitude I’ve ever seen in my life”<\/strong><\/h2>\n

    Klopp’s comments on his second-choice goalkeeper come after former Manchester City star Milner highlighted Mignolet’s presence and effort in Liverpool training.<\/p>\n

    “Someone who hasn\u2019t been spoken about much this season:\u00a0Simon Mignolet,” he said<\/a>.<\/p>\n

    “It\u2019s incredible how he is around the training ground, he has the best attitude I\u2019ve ever seen in my life.<\/p>\n

    “Every single day, he pushes himself and pushes Ali and the boys to improve.<\/p>\n

    “Nobody will ever speak about him in the press because he\u2019s not on the field, but he\u2019s been so important for us this season.<\/p>\n

    “That\u2019s exactly what you need, great characters. Even if you\u2019re not playing as much as you would like, the characters in the dressing room are still standing up.”<\/p>\n
