Watford technical director Filippo Giraldi believes midfielder Roberto Pereyra is good enough to play for Chelsea.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The 28-year-old Argentine international sees his present deal with the Vicarage Road club expire in June 2021.<\/p>\n

  1. Pereyra joined Watford from Juventus in 2016.<\/li>\n
  2. He’s gone on to make 78 appearances for the club in all competitions.<\/li>\n
  3. The former River Plate academy graduate has bagged 13 goals and 10 assists for The Hornets.<\/li>\n
  4. So far this season only Troy Deeney (9) and Gerard Deulofeu (7) have scored more Premier League goals than Pereyra (6).<\/li>\n
  5. Pereyra, though, is currently on a 10-match goalless streak in England’s top-flight.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Since joining from Juventus in 2016 the native of San Miguel de Tucum\u00e1n has gradually become an integral part of Watford’s first team under three different managers (Walter Mazzarri, Marco Silva and Javi Gracia).<\/p>\n

    He’d finish his first season (2016\/17) having registered two goals across 13 league appearances. The next (2017\/18) saw him improve to five goals in 32 outings. So far this season he’s managed six goals in his opening 29 appearances.<\/p>\n

    His performances, especially in the early part of this season, reportedly attracted the attention of a certain west London club. Giraldi, who is hopeful of retaining Pereyra’s services, feels he’s destined for the big stage at Stamford Bridge.<\/p>\n

    “I do not like to comment on transfer market speculation,” he told Radio Kiss Kiss<\/a>.<\/p>\n

    “In football, nothing is impossible, but I see it as a highly unlikely scenario as for us he (Pereyra) is a very important player.<\/p>\n

    “I think he can go to a great team, and I say it with all due respect to Torino. I see him as a potential Chelsea player.<\/p>\n

    “He played at Juventus, but he lacked continuity. With us he has excellent statistics and I see him in a great team. We will do everything we can to keep him, otherwise he will go to a big team.”<\/p>\n
