Liverpool have unveiled their new home strip for the 2019\/20 season, with the kit a fitting tribute to legendary former manager Bob Paisley.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In an apt homage to\u00a0Paisley, the Reds have taken inspiration from the 1982\/83 season – Paisley’s final year at the Anfield helm – to commemorate what would have been his 100th birthday this year.<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. Liverpool have released a Bob Paisley-inspired kit based on their\u00a01982\/83 title-winning season.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. The traditional red pepper colour will be accompanied by a faint yellow hue and vertical white stripes.<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Paisley\u2019s iconic signature will be emblazoned on the inside of the neck.<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. In remembrance to the tragic events of Hillsborough, the 96 emblem will be encased by the eternal flames and will sit at the nape of the neck.<\/span><\/li>\n
  5. A ‘Phantom’ black goalkeeper strip has also been released, which includes a striking gold accent. \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    During his final season, Paisley guided Liverpool to their 14th league title – and his sixth – while also winning the League Cup at the expense of Manchester United in the final.<\/p>\n

    To recognise his sporting achievements and to remember his glory years in the Anfield dugout, the kit will feature his iconic signature, as well as an\u00a0official swing tag dedicated to him.<\/p>\n

    The strip will feature the traditional\u00a0red pepper colour, and will include white pin stripes on the front of the shirt. The kit will also feature a commemoration of the tragic events of Hillsborough, with the 96 emblem encased by the eternal flames and positioned at the nape of the neck.<\/p>\n

    Speaking about the new home strip, Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson said: “This year\u2019s home kit is incredibly strong.<\/p>\n

    “I\u2019m really looking forward to wearing it every time we play at our beloved home of Anfield, as a symbol of the pride and passion you have when you\u2019re a Red.<\/p>\n

    “It\u2019s also a really fitting tribute to one of our greatest managers, Bob Paisley, and is a fantastic way to remember all his success.”<\/p>\n

    From 13 to No. 1<\/strong> \u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

    New Balance also unveiled the goalkeeper shirt, with the ‘Phantom’ black strip featuring a revealing gold trim and has been developed in line with the outfield players’ jerseys.<\/p>\n

    Alisson Becker said of the design: “I\u2019m incredibly impressed by the style of this season\u2019s goalkeeper jersey – it will really stand out on the pitch and will look great alongside the home kit.”<\/p>\n

    It has also been confirmed that from the start of the 2019\/2020 season, the Brazilian shot-stopper will be inheriting the heralded No.1 shirt.<\/p>\n

    The change will see Alisson switch from the No. 13 he has donned this season to the club’s vacant No. 1, which was made available after Loris Karius was sent out on loan to Besiktas.<\/p>\n

    Alisson has proven to be a huge hit on Merseyside this season, having played a key part in the Reds’ Premier League title hunt and progression to the Champions League semi-finals.<\/p>\n

    Unsurprisingly, plenty of fans are delighted that he has stepped up to take the prestigious No.1 jersey.<\/p>\n
