Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has said Manchester United must solve the “$100 million question” by helping his strikers get over their current lack of cutting edge.<\/strong><\/p>\n

United face Barcelona in the second leg of the Champions League quarter-finals on Tuesday night, trailing 1-0 from the first leg.<\/p>\n

  1. Romelu Lukaku and Marcus Rashford both scored when United won 3-1 at PSG in the Champions League round-of-16.<\/li>\n
  2. However, since then, United have scored just six goals in six matches across all competitions.<\/li>\n
  3. It took two Paul Pogba penalties for the Red Devils to overcome West Ham at the weekend.<\/li>\n
  4. Rashford has scored just once across United’s last six games, while Lukaku has failed to register since his double in Paris.<\/li>\n

    Solskjaer is full of belief United can turn the scoreline around and reach the semi-finals with another comeback victory over top European opposition.<\/p>\n

    But the Norwegian has admitted he doesn’t know exactly how to overcome the team’s lack of cutting edge.<\/p>\n

    “That’s the $100million question. Who can score them? That’s why the best strikers are the most expensive ones,” Solskjaer said<\/a>.<\/p>\n

    “We had a couple of decent chances (in the first leg), but when you can’t work the goalkeeper, you can’t score. We know we’ll create chances, we have a goal threat, it’s about taking a deep breath and taking those chances.”<\/p>\n

    He added: “It (scoring) is very important. We need to score goals and if it’s Rom, Jesse (Lingard), Alexis (Sanchez), Marcus \u2013 we need big performances.<\/p>\n

    “Whoever starts tomorrow (Tuesday) when they’re on the pitch we want to see some good form. We weren’t good enough against them (in the first leg).”<\/p>\n

    Sanchez can prove a point against Barcelona \u2013 Solskjaer<\/strong><\/h2>\n

    Solskjaer also spoke about Alexis Sanchez, who has returned from a knee injury and could play a part from the bench against his former club.<\/p>\n

    The Chilean has struggled to replicate his Arsenal form since arriving at Old Trafford in January last year, but Solskjaer believes his experience of the Nou Camp could help United.<\/p>\n

    “Of course for Alexis, who’s been here and played here, when he’s on the pitch he wants to prove a point for us as well,” Solskjaer said.<\/p>\n

    “He’s been injured \u2013 he’s not had a fantastic season so far and let’s hope he can end the season great.<\/p>\n

    “We’re in the business end, playing games Man United are used to playing. We’re challenging for a semi-final \u2013 let’s hope Alexis, when he’s on the pitch, he can be happy with his performance.”<\/p>\n
