Manchester United legend Paul Scholes believes his former club should worry about losing Paul Pogba and not Ander Herrera this summer.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The 29-year-old Spanish midfielder is reportedly<\/a> in line to join Paris Saint-Germain, despite entering talks with the Red Devils regarding a new contract extension.<\/p>\n

  1. Herrera joined Manchester United from Athletic Bilbao as one of Louis van Gaal’s first signings in 2014.<\/li>\n
  2. The midfielder has gone on to become an invaluable first-team member and has made 187 appearances for the Red Devils to date.<\/li>\n
  3. Herrera has so far registered 20 goals and 27 assists for United.<\/li>\n
  4. He has lifted three pieces of major silverware including the FA Cup and Europa League during his spell in England.<\/li>\n
  5. His present deal expires this summer and the Spaniard could leave on a free transfer.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Herrera joined United in the summer of 2014, becoming one of Louis van Gaal’s first signings, a year after a prospective move to Old Trafford from Athletic Bilbao broke down.<\/p>\n

    Under three different managers \u2013 Van Gaal, Jose Mourinho and now Ole Gunnar Solskjaer \u2013 he has become one of the club’s most impressive performers.<\/p>\n

    With his present deal running out there was an expectation of a new contract, but talks between the parties have seemingly broken down.<\/p>\n

    A number of clubs across Europe have shown interest in signing Herrera, most notably Ligue 1 giants PSG, but United’s former metronome Scholes feels losing Pogba \u2013 who has recently been strongly linked with Real Madrid \u2013 would be a far greater blow.<\/p>\n

    “Ander Herrera, I wouldn’t worry about. I wouldn’t worry about him,” he told BT Sport<\/a>.<\/p>\n

    “If you sell Pogba now, you’re selling your best player.”<\/p>\n

    Solskjaer will be looking to become the first Manchester United boss not called Sir Alex Ferguson to reach the Champions League semi-finals.<\/p>\n

    However, the Red Devils have it all to do following a disappointing quarter-final first leg meeting with Barcelona at home.<\/p>\n

    Solskjaer’s men fell to a 0-1 defeat, with Luke Shaw inadvertently scoring the crucial goal, meaning they will need to repeat their PSG heroics at the Camp Nou.<\/p>\n

    After losing 0-2 the record 20-time English champions left Paris with an incredible 1-3 victory. But since then United have lost four of their subsequent six matches in all competitions.<\/p>\n
