Former Chelsea forward Flourent Malouda has been left stunned after\u00a0FC Zurich announced the termination of his contract without him knowing.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Malouda announced his retirement last year after capping off an illustrious 22-year playing career with one final sojourn in Luxembourg with FC Differdange 03, before taking up a coaching position with FC Zurich.<\/p>\n

  1. After hanging up his boots, Malouda joined the FC Zurich coaching staff in February.<\/li>\n
  2. The Swiss club confirmed the Frenchman would join their backroom team on March 1.<\/li>\n
  3. This would have been Malouda’s first step into football coaching but has taken an odd twist.<\/li>\n
  4. \u00a0FC Zurich released a statement on their Twitter account announcing his departure.<\/li>\n
  5. This prompted Malouda to tweet back in confusion at not being made aware of the decision.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The Swiss club confirmed Malouda’s arrival two months ago, with the former Blues forward taking up his position in the backroom team on March 1.<\/p>\n

    However, just over a month later, the club have now released a statement announcing Malouda’s departure by “mutual agreement”.<\/p>\n

    On the club’s official website, the statement read: “FC Zurich and Florent Malouda have decided by mutual agreement to end the recently started cooperation. <\/span><\/p>\n

    “It turns out that the various projects in which Florent Malouda remains involved are not compatible with the tasks planned by the FCZ. <\/span><\/p>\n

    “We wish Florent Malouda good luck and success on his future career path.”<\/span><\/p>\n

    The\u00a0Swiss Super League club also tweeted the story on their official Twitter page, which caught the attention of Malouda, who responded in astonishment, saying he had not been informed.<\/p>\n

    He tweeted<\/a>: “Really, I didn’t know that??”<\/p>\n
