Inter’s ‘Curva Nord’ ultras have made it clear that they are “finished” with Mauro Icardi because of how his contract situation has created a bitter situation at the club.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Inter\u2019s leading scorer over the last four campaigns was stripped of the captain’s armband at Inter as negotiations over a new contract stalled in February.\u00a0The Argentine then claimed he could not play due to a knee injury despite being passed fit by medical staff, according to Luciano Spalletti.<\/p>\n

  1. The Argentine striker, 25, sees his current contract expire in 2021<\/li>\n
  2. His wife and agent, Wanda Nara, is negotiating a new Inter deal along with a lawyer.<\/li>\n
  3. But with Icardi yet to sign amid links to clubs such as Real Madrid, the striker was removed as club captain in mid-February.<\/li>\n
  4. Icardi then spent nearly two months out of the team and was only recalled this week against Genoa.<\/li>\n
  5. He previously offended Inter’s ultras with a chapter in his ‘Sempre Avanti’ book in 2016, for which he was fined by the club.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Icardi, out since mid-February, returned to action in a 4-0 away win against Genoa on Wednesday, scoring a goal and providing an assist. This did not redeem him in the eyes of the travelling fans, a section of whom refused to celebrate his goal.<\/p>\n
