Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud has revealed why he is optimistic about the club’s impending transfer ban.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Blues forward played a small part in the club’s fortuitous\u00a02-1 victory away to Premier League strugglers Cardiff City on Sunday.<\/p>\n

  1. Last month, Chelsea were banned from registering new players by Fifa until the beginning of summer 2020.<\/li>\n
  2. This is because the club breached rules regarding acquiring\u00a0youth players.<\/li>\n
  3. Fifa investigated 92 incidences of potential breaches and the club were found guilty in 29 cases.<\/li>\n
  4. The club have appealed against the decision and will put their case forward on April 11th.<\/li>\n
  5. If unsuccessful, Chelsea will not be allowed to sign a new player before and throughout the 2019\/20 season.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    One man who seems to be positively anticipating the verdict is Chelsea striker Giroud, who spoke to reporters<\/a> about the club’s impending transfer ban.<\/p>\n

    The French World Cup-winner acknowledges that if the club are unable to bring in reinforcements for two successive transfer windows, then the Blues may be forced to play the former Arsenal man on a more regular basis.<\/p>\n

    \u201cAt the club we still need to wait to see regarding if we will have the opportunity to get some players [in the next transfer windows],\u201d said Giroud.<\/div>\n

    \u201cIf not the club will be blocked and maybe then they will need me more and to offer me something. I am very happy there, but it all depends on a few things so we will see.\u201d<\/p>\n

    Giroud’s mixed time at Chelsea<\/strong><\/h2>\n

    The 32-year-old was highly respected at the Emirates Stadium, with the majority of Arsenal supporters appreciating the qualities Giroud brings to his side.<\/p>\n

    So when he made the switch from north London to west, the Frenchman may have assumed that he would get the same opportunities to start for his new club, then under former boss Antonio Conte.<\/p>\n

    Giroud made 253 appearances for the Gunners, scoring 105 goals, averaging a goal every 2.4 games under former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger.<\/p>\n

    For Chelsea, Giroud has only scored 15 times in 54 appearances since signing in January 2018, averaging a goal every 3.6 games.<\/p>\n
