Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho has been hailed for having the “right” Manchester United mentality, by former club defender Rio Ferdinand.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The talented playmaker has enjoyed a highly successful season with Dortmund as he has emerged as one of the most exciting prospects in European football, bringing links to the likes of United.<\/p>\n

  1. Jadon Sancho left Man City for Dortmund in 2017 over a lack of playing time.<\/li>\n
  2. Sancho says Man Utd striker Marcus Rashford is an inspiration for him.<\/li>\n
  3. And screenshots<\/a> on Twitter suggest he has retweeted links with the Red Devils.<\/li>\n
  4. But Dortmund publicly insist he is not for sale.<\/li>\n
  5. And the fact Liverpool tried to sign him in 2017<\/a> suggest there will be competition if they change this stance.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Former United centre-back Ferdinand has commented on the potential rumours linking Sancho with a move back home to his native country.<\/p>\n

    Ferdinand has heaped praise upon the young England man, stating that he wouldn’t hesitate for one second if offered the chance to bring Sancho to Old Trafford before the start of next season.<\/p>\n

    He told Goal<\/a>: “I would take him [at Manchester United] all day.<\/p>\n

    “English, young, hungry and talented, that’s all I need to know.”<\/p>\n

    Ferdinand also marvelled at the excellent mentality Sancho has showcased. Discussing whether he feels Sancho has the right attitude to play for Manchester United, the former centre-back continued: “He has got the mentality. The mentality is a big part of it all, whether he has the physical attributes or not.<\/p>\n

    “The kid’s mentality, to leave Manchester City, who wanted him to stay, to just say ‘My ability deserves it and I think I can do it straight away, right now. I am not waiting’.<\/p>\n

    “And he has gone and done that. You have to respect that.<\/p>\n

    “So if someone asked me whether I would take Jadon Sancho, with all due respect to Borussia Dortmund, I would say yes, 100 per cent.”<\/p>\n

    What a year for Sancho<\/strong><\/h2>\n

    The 18-year-old left Manchester City for Dortmund in 2017, with the youngster swapping limited game time at the Etihad to first-team action in the Bundesliga.<\/p>\n

    His excellent direct, attacking ability has seen him turn into a master creator, providing 17 assists for his teammates so far this season. He also has nine goals to his name, all in 35 appearances this campaign.<\/p>\n

    The form of Sancho alerted England manager Gareth Southgate, who in turn decided to call the young man up to the full senior squad in October and has since given him three caps.<\/p>\n

    At such a young age, Sancho has played regular first-team football for a club battling for the title in Germany, has made regular Champions League appearances while also getting the call to play for his country.<\/p>\n
