David Moyes believes he would have delivered Champions League football for Everton had been given the same spending power as Marco Silva.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Moyes was in charge at Goodison Park for 11 years between 2002 and 2013 and despite guiding the Toffees to consistent top-half finishes on a shoestring budget, he only managed to break into the top four once, in 2004\/05.<\/p>\n

    Since Moyes left the club for Man Utd in 2013, Everton have only finished above eighth once despite an influx of spending from majority shareholder, Farhad Moshiri – investment which the Scotsman believes he would have utilised.<\/p>\n

    \u201cI genuinely feel that if we had the money to buy a top striker we would have been in the Champions League regularly,\u201d Moyes told beIN SPORTS<\/a>.<\/p>\n

    \u201cWe didn\u2019t have that money but what Everton have at their disposal now is the finances to try and make that happen.<\/p>\n

    \u201cI had an unbelievable relationship with Bill Kenwright. When I took over he said I\u2019d have \u00a35m to spend every year.<\/p>\n

    \u201cEventually along the journey we had to sell Wayne Rooney, Joleon Lescott, Jack Rodwell and Mikel Arteta but sometimes that\u2019s what football clubs have to do.\u201d<\/p>\n

    Silva: Second-half v Chelsea is the real Everton<\/strong><\/h2>\n

    Prior to their 2-0 win over Chelsea last week, Everton hadn’t beaten a top-six team since thrashing Man City 4-0 at Goodison Park in 2017.<\/p>\n

    However, Silva believes their particularly strong performance in the second half against Maurizio Sarri’s side shows just what he is trying to implement in training but called for his players to show this on a more consistent basis.<\/p>\n

    “I don’t have doubts about what I’m doing, I’m the first one that wants more consistency,” the Portuguese said<\/a>.<\/p>\n

    “[We want] to be more mature to achieve everything we want, deserve and what our fans deserve also.<\/p>\n

    “The first half I didn’t like it at all, we were not there from the first minute. What we did in the second half was everything we planned during the week.<\/p>\n

    “I told our players at half-time that they have to do everything different. And they did. They showed great attitude, character and personality second half, but we have to do it from the first minute.<\/p>\n

    “Desire is a strong word. We weren’t without desire. They work really hard every day, I can’t say anything about their attitude.<\/p>\n
