Bayern Munich defender David Alaba has revealed he can “imagine” himself playing for a Premier League club in the future.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The left-back also admitted he is an Arsenal fan after falling for the Londoners as a child.<\/p>\n

  1. Alaba has been with Bayern for his whole senior career, winning seven Bundesliga titles with the club.<\/li>\n
  2. But the 26-year-old is perhaps not as highly-rated as he was during Bayern’s treble-winning season in 2012\/13.<\/li>\n
  3. He is contracted with Bayern until the summer of 2021 after signing a long-term deal in 2016.<\/li>\n
  4. His comments about Arsenal are likely to fuel speculation about a move to England in the future.<\/li>\n
  5. Alaba has made 34 appearances across all competitions this season, scoring two goals and providing four assists.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Alaba has shown plenty of loyalty to Bayern over the years, but the Austria international has hinted he doesn’t intend to spend his whole career in Germany.<\/p>\n

    Speaking to Bild (via\u00a0Goal<\/a>) during the international break, Alaba spoke about potentially switching countries in the future.<\/p>\n

    “I can imagine trying something else but I really feel very comfortable at Bayern,” he said.<\/p>\n

    “Every year there are new challenges and new objectives and the pressure will always be there. I’m happy in Munich but of course I can imagine seeing something else [in the future].”<\/p>\n

    Asked which countries he might be interested in playing in, Alaba said: “Spain, England. In Spain it would be the two big clubs, I guess? Real [Madrid] or Barcelona. Also the big clubs [in England].<\/p>\n

    “Yes I was [an Arsenal fan as a child]. When you’ve been an Arsenal fan as a kid you will be one your whole life in some way.”<\/p>\n

    Marcos Alonso has come in for plenty of criticism this term, particularly defensively, so Chelsea are likely to target a new left-back this summer if they avoid a transfer ban.<\/p>\n

    Alaba’s support for Arsenal means the Gunners could show an interest, especially with Nacho Monreal running down his contract.<\/p>\n
