Jose Mourinho has admitted to rejecting “three or four” clubs since being sacked by Manchester United, as he prepares for next season.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Portuguese manager has been out of work since December after being sacked by United following a poor start to his third season in charge of the club. He has since been linked with taking over numerous clubs, though has not yet committed his future.<\/p>\n

Where will Mourinho be next season? Five key things to know…<\/strong><\/h2>\n

  1. Mourinho started the season in charge of Man Utd, about to embark on his third campaign with the club.<\/li>\n
  2. But after a poor start to the season, the 56-year-old was sacked in December, with United sixth in the Premier League.<\/li>\n
  3. He has since been linked with various managerial jobs at both club and national level.<\/li>\n
  4. But Mourinho has now revealed he has rejected three of four offers to return to management.<\/li>\n
  5. The Portuguese also admitted he is eying a return to management in the summer, at club level.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    With spare time on his hands, Mourinho has been working as a pundit covering European football’s biggest games including the Champions League knockout stages. But it appears the Portuguese is ready for a return to management and success.<\/p>\n

    When asked about his future, Mourinho told beIN Sports<\/a>: “I don’t know, somewhere. I am going to win again.<\/p>\n

    “In this moment, I am two-and-a-half months without work and I am ‘working’ preparing myself for the next one. It’s not like I am on holiday, it’s not like I am bored with nothing to do.<\/p>\n

    “I am preparing myself for the next one and that is something that, when you are working every day in football with six press conferences per week, with three matches per week, with pre-match analysis, post-match analysis, with all the problems you have on your day by day, sometimes you have no time to take care of yourself.<\/p>\n

    “And now I have having this month where I think I’m going to be back even better prepared.”<\/p>\n

    Mourinho went on to speak about the specifics of the jobs he is searching for, giving a small insight into just why he has already rejected a handful of offers.<\/p>\n

    “National team job is a very specific job, I like daily football, I like daily work,” he continued.<\/p>\n

    “I like many competitions, I like matches and I want to stay in football club level. But who knows?<\/p>\n

    “What I have in mind is that I would like to back in the summer in June for a new club, for a new pre-season.<\/p>\n

    “I know exactly what I don’t want. That’s the reason why I had to say, to three or four different offers, I had to say no.<\/p>\n

    “And I know what I want in terms of, not a specific club, but the nature of the job, the dimension of the job, I know what I want. And I’m going to be waiting for that.”<\/p>\n

    Who could take Mourinho on?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

    In addition to the “three or four” job offers Mourinho has admitted to rejecting, the Portuguese has also been linked with sensational returns to two former clubs.<\/p>\n

    The first was Real Madrid, who sacked Santiago Solari after a poor run of results which effectively ended Los Blancos’ season – including being knocked out of the Champions League for the first time in over 1,000 days.<\/p>\n

    But instead, Madrid went for another former boss in Zinedine Zidane, who got off to the perfect start with a 2-0 win over Celta Vigo.<\/p>\n

    And, more recently, there has been conversations among some Chelsea fans calling for Mourinho to return to Stamford Bridge for a third spell.
