Two AC Milan players have offered their apologies following fiery\u00a0altercations throughout the club’s 3-2 derby loss to arch-rivals Inter.<\/b><\/p>\n

Both Franck Kessie and Lucas Biglia have responded after their clash poured further damage on the club, who lost their five-match winning streak on Sunday night.<\/p>\n

  1. AC Milan lost 3-2 to Inter with strikes from Matias Vecino, Stefan de Vrij and Lautaro Martinez enough to seal the win for those in blue and black.<\/li>\n
  2. In the second half, Kessie was substituted and looked visibly irritated.<\/li>\n
  3. Biglia spoke to Kessie on the bench, which infuriated him, leading to Kessie having to be physically restrained by his teammates.<\/li>\n
  4. Following Kessie’s attempts to lunge at Biglia, both players have spoken to the media about the incident.<\/li>\n
  5. Milan boss Gennaro Gattuso has said the incident was “unacceptable”.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Speaking to the media about the incident in discussion, Kessie expressed regret at how he handled the situation.<\/p>\n

    Standing alongside Biglia, the two players discussed their embarrassment and offered their sincere apologies to their teammates, their manager and the club as a whole.<\/p>\n

    Kessie told reporters (via Football Italia<\/a>): \u201cIt was the adrenaline of the match situation, I was frustrated coming off and really wanted to do more. I took it out on Lucas and it was a mistake, I apologised afterwards.<\/p>\n

    \u201cHe is older than me and I should learn from him. I\u2019m sorry.\u201d<\/p>\n

    Biglia then said: \u201cFranck knows what I said and we clarified the situation afterwards. We all want to win, but this is not something we should do in front of everyone. Maybe save it for the dressing room.<\/p>\n

    \u201cWe above all feel bad for this embarrassing scene, I feel ashamed of it and apologised to the lads and coach in person. It was not what we wanted, we embarrassed the club we represent and it won\u2019t happen again.\u201d<\/p>\n

    “It was just unacceptable”<\/h2>\n

    Not one to shy away from feisty occasions, Milan boss Gattuso spoke to reporters about the clash between his two players.<\/p>\n

    The former club midfielder couldn’t hide his disappointment, citing that there has to be more respect throughout his side and that he will have a further say on the incident over the next few days.<\/p>\n

    Gattuso said<\/a>: \u201cThe defeat that hurts me the most was Kessie and seeing what happened on the bench.<\/p>\n

    \u201cThat is something I cannot accept with the way I see football, the way I see the team and the group ethic. There has to be respect for everyone in the dressing room and it was just unacceptable.<\/p>\n
