So you’re gearing up for FPL gameweek 4 and you’re desperate to get Cristiano Ronaldo into your team? Fear not, we’ve got you covered.<\/strong><\/p>\n

We’ve already had three gameweeks to pick out the form men and pinpoint the differentials who could propel us to FPL glory, so maybe, like us, you’re ready to play your first wildcard of the 2021\/22 campaign.<\/p>\n

There are plenty of premium players this season, with Romelu Lukaku, Harry Kane, Mohamed Salah, Bruno Fernandes and Trent Alexander-Arnold to consider once you’ve factored in Ronaldo. No one is getting all of them into a competitive squad, so you’ll have to comprimise somewhere.<\/p>\n

Below, using our wildcard chip, we\u2019ve pulled together a 15-man squad of players you should be considering for Gameweek 4. Using every inch of our 100M budget, we’ve plumped for a 3-4-3 formation with Ronaldo as captain.<\/p>\n

Robert S\u00e1nchez, 4.5:<\/strong> Only Ederson and Mendy kept more clean sheets than Sanchez’s 10 after he’d wrestled the gloves from Mat Ryan last season. Despite rocking a makeshift back line, Brighton have won more possessions in the defensive third (84) than any other side. Sanchez has just one clean sheet and six saves to his name so far, but Brighton have some decent fixtures on the horizon.<\/p>\n

Vicente Guaita, 4.5:<\/strong> You need two first-choice goalkeepers or risk missing out on points when the other is unavailable. Guaita kept eight clean sheets and picked up 15 bonus points last term, so certainly shouldn’t be overlooked. Palace have a nice run from Gameweek 11, when his centre-back pairing Joachim Andersen and Marc Guehi will have had more time to settle in. Keep Guaita up your sleeve.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Trent Alexander-Arnold, 7.5:<\/strong> No player has created more chances than Alexander-Arnold (15) so far this season. The Liverpool man is bound to pick up clean sheet points this term, but even when the Reds concede he’s capable of decent hauls. The England international has had five shots and provided one assist in three matches already.<\/p>\n

Antonio Rudiger, 5.5:<\/strong> Interchangeable with Luke Shaw (both 5.5). While the Manchester United man might provide more attacking returns, we expect Rudiger to pick up more clean sheets. His place is safe in Chelsea’s back line, where he has picked up 11 cleans sheets in 18 Premier League starts since Thomas Tuchel’s appointment.<\/p>\n

Nelson Semedo, 4.9:<\/strong> The Wolves fixture list reads like this: Watford, Brentford, Southampton, Newcastle, Villa, Leeds. With that run you can bank on some clean sheet points – only Manchester City have conceded fewer chances than Wolves so far this term. At the other end, no Wolves defender has created more chances than Semedo (3) despite the fact he missed the opener. If you’re running out of budget, Conor Coady represents a cheaper option but promises less going forward.<\/p>\n

Tino Livramento, 4.0:<\/strong> A rotational option at a decent price. He’s not afraid of getting forward and also featured on the right side of midfield for the England U21s during the international break. Livramento created three chances in Southampton’s 2-2 draw with Newcastle in gameweek 3.<\/p>\n

Brandon Williams, 4.0:<\/strong> Another budget pick, with a view to playing 3-4-3 and only leaning on him if necessary. Squeezes in ahead of Daniel Amartey purely because we expect Williams to play more going forward.<\/p>\n\n

Ferran Torres, 7.1:<\/strong> Manchester City’s failure to land Harry Kane means Torres is set to play as a striker this season, with Gabriel Jesus out wide. He has two goals and one assist from three matches and looks superb value at 7.1, providing Pep Guardiola resists the urge to rotate. Of FPL midfielders, only Sadio Mane’s xG is higher than Torres’s 1.62.<\/p>\n

Raphinha, 6.5:<\/strong> The Leeds man has had more shots (11) than any of his team-mates and already has a goal to show for it. The 24-year-old is also on free-kick and corner duty for Marcelo Biela’s men and heads into a favourable run of fixtures after Sunday’s visit of Liverpool. You’ll need Leeds representation over the coming weeks, and Raphinha looks a decent bet.<\/p>\n

Mohamed Salah, 12.5:<\/strong> A premium option you can’t look past. Salah has 230+ FPL points in all four seasons since joining Liverpool, and he already has two goals and two assists in 2021\/22. Only West Ham’s Michail Antonio has had more shots than Salah so far this season, while no FPL midfielder has created more chances than the Egyptian. A no-brainer.<\/p>\n

Demarai Gray, 5.6:<\/strong> The budget pick continues to deliver. Gray averages more than six FPL points per 90 this season, with two goals in two before the international break. The 25-year-old is playing an advanced role under Rafael Benitez and the fixture list certainly favours Everton in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n

Josh Brownhill, 4.5:<\/strong> It’s a toss-up between Brownhill and Billy Gilmour when it comes to a reliable cheap option for your bench. This selection is key to freeing funds for more premium picks in your XV, but it’s important you select someone who will get regular game time. Despite playing fewer minutes, Brownhill poses a bigger threat than Gilmour at the top of the field and is likely to return goal involvements at some point this season. The Burnley man has had two shots and created two chances so far this term, and he poses a genuine threat from set-pieces.<\/p>\n

Cristiano Ronaldo, 12.5:<\/strong> Move over Bruno Fernandes, Ronaldo will take on penalty duty from here. Think that’s all he offers? Think again. No Premier League player had a higher npxG (non-penalty expected goals) than Ronaldo’s 21.77 last season. The Portugal international also had more shots (168) than any Premier League player managed last term, averaging more than five shots per 90. For context, Harry Kane had 31 fewer attempts during the 2020\/21 campaign. Across three seasons, Ronaldo scored 101 goals and picked up five trophies at Juventus, winning the Serie A golden boot in 2020\/21 with a tally of 29 league goals.<\/p>\n

Michail Antonio, 7.9:<\/strong> No player has had more shots (16) or shots on target (7) in the Premier League this season than Antonio. The West Ham man leads the scoring charts with four goals in three matches, plus he’s picked up three assists from seven chances created. His 40 FPL points so far this season put him top of the pile, with eight bonus points already.<\/p>\n

Dominic Calvert-Lewin, 8.2:<\/strong> Only Antonio has scored more goals than Calvert-Lewin’s three this season. His shot accuracy percentage of 63.64 ranks highest among all players to have had at least eight attempts so far. He’s also on penalty duty, with kind fixtures against Burnley, Villa, Norwich, West Ham, Watford and Wolves in the next seven gameweeks.<\/p>\n
