We recently dabbled in the idea and devised our own <a href=\"https:\/\/www.squawka.com\/en\/football-manager-2020-david-moyes-british-cup-celtic-rangers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">&#8216;British Cup&#8217;<\/a> based on the musings of David Moyes.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"background-color: transparent; display: block; padding: 0; max-width: 700px;\" title=\"Audioboom player\" src=\"https:\/\/embeds.audioboom.com\/posts\/7533381\/embed\/v4\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>According to the West Ham manager, the revamped tournament would be a way of revitalising the League Cup and making domestic football more entertaining, with other clubs from the Home Nations being drawn into the equation.<\/p>\n<p>We wanted to test Moyes\u2019 hypothetical scenario and see how Celtic and Rangers fared against English opposition. But, creating your own cup competition on Football Manager can be a complicated and sometimes overwhelming task if you&#8217;re new to the whole editing process.<\/p>\n<p>So, if you want to put together your own competition on FM20, whether that\u2019s a second-tier Champions League, Andrea Agnelli\u2019s sycophantic \u2018Super League\u2019 or any other tournament for that matter, we have a step-by-step guide below on how to do so.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Step 1: Install FM Editor<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>To make any adjustments to your Football Manager save you must first download and install the p<span>re-game Editor.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>To do this you must first open up Steam, click on the &#8216;Library&#8217; tab, select &#8216;Tools&#8217;, locate &#8216;Football Manager Editor&#8217; and right click to install.<\/p>\n<p>(Steam \u2192 Library \u2192 Tools \u2192 Football Manager 20 Editor \u2192 Download)<\/p>\n<p>There is also the option of an\u00a0In-Game Editor which you will have to purchase, but for the purpose of this guide, that is not necessary.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Step 2: Load up FM Editor and add competition<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Your first step will be to add your own competition once you&#8217;ve loaded up FM Editor, and that can simply be done by clicking on the &#8216;competition&#8217; icon.<\/p>\n<p>Once there, select the &#8216;add&#8217; icon and begin filling in the details of your competition. If you are putting together a domestic competition, then fill out the &#8216;Nation&#8217; icon and leave the &#8216;Continent&#8217; option blank, and vice versa.<\/p>\n<p>You will also be required to select the style of your competition by ticking the &#8216;Type&#8217; box and choosing from the options. We went with &#8216;Domestic League Cup&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>There are no other required steps to make in this section, but you may want to tweak a few minor details such as the &#8216;Winter Ball Colour&#8217; and the &#8216;Use Extra Officials&#8217; option, but again these are not necessary, only minor additions.<\/p>\n<p>For the purpose of our tournament, we are replacing the Carabao Cup, so we first had to delete that by simply searching for the competition by name, clicking on the icon and removing it from the database, but this is not necessary if you&#8217;re creating an entirely new competition.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Step 3: Add Club Continental Rules<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Unfortunately the above stage only scratches the surfaces. For the &#8216;British Cup&#8217; (League Cup) we are looking at a March finish, so select a date immediately after the final has taken place &#8212; and of course, select the correct continent in the tab above.<\/p>\n<p>You will then select which countries will be participating in the tournament and how the clubs will qualify.
