Anfield was a fortress for Liverpool<\/a> under Jurgen Klopp.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The German knew the importance of getting home fans on side early on. He then used home form as a platform for their initial top four push and it was later pivotal in their title challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anfield had the fear factor. There was a sense of inevitability whenever the Reds played there. A win felt like a formality for many years. Not so much now though. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Liverpool have won just one of their five Premier League<\/a> games at Anfield under Andoni Iraola<\/a> this season, drawing two and losing two. They\u2019ve scored four goals across these games and blanked in three of their outings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Liverpool went from being all but guaranteed three points to not even guaranteeing a goal a game at home. The latest team to shut them out were Arsenal<\/a>. There\u2019s no real shame in being kept at arm’s length by the reigning champions. They are resolute and robust and boast the best defensive record in the Premier League.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

But it was the manner of the defeat. Despite their pressure after conceding early, Liverpool didn’t have Arsenal on the ropes at any point. David Raya<\/a> wasn\u2019t really troubled between the sticks for the Gunners. It was the same against Manchester City<\/a> in their previous defeat. Liverpool finished with an Expected Goals total of just 0.47 against Enzo Maresca<\/a>\u2019s men. And earlier in the season, Fulham<\/a> hadn\u2019t kept a clean sheet in the league until their visit to Anfield.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So why, after spending close to \u00a3400million on attackers across the last two summers, are the Reds struggling to make an impact in the final third?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Liverpool’s attacking woes<\/h2>
