The 2026 summer transfer window is drawing to a close. But there’s still time for deals to be done, and for Jadon Sancho to find himself a new club.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sancho was once one of England’s brightest stars, featuring in the Euro 2020 final with the Three Lions. He brought his ill-fated spell at Manchester United<\/a> to an end this summer following the expiry of his contract.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 26-year-old hadn’t played for the Red Devils since the 2024 Community Shield, spending time on loan at Chelsea<\/a> and Aston Villa<\/a> in the two years since. However, he now faces a critical summer in his career as he navigates the free agent market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Into the final hours of the window, Sancho is being linked with a move back abroad, despite heavy interest from Premier League<\/a> suitors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, where could Sancho go next as he seeks to rediscover the form that made him look destined for the top? Here are the dream, realistic and wildcard options.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dream: Borussia Dortmund<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This one doesn’t really need much explaining.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sancho swapped Manchester City<\/a> for Borussia Dortmund<\/a> in 2017 and never looked back, registering 50 goals and 64 assists in 137 appearances for the Bundesliga giants across four seasons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was that form that put Sancho into England contention and earned his huge move to Man Utd in 2021. Furthermore, it was Dortmund who came to the rescue when he needed a career reset in January 2024, returning on loan to notch three goals and three assists in 21 appearances for Die Schwarzgelben — reaching a Champions League final.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dortmund are heavily linked with a move to bring Sancho to Signal Iduna Park for the third time this summer, and Sky Bet<\/a> have them as the 6\/4 favourite individual club to sign him at present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sancho will see BVB as a safety net, and the club will see the player as one they can trust to bed in quickly and produce the goods in Germany.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Realistic: Serie A<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

There has been no shortage of speculation linking Sancho with Serie A over the summer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to reports, Roma made an offer for Sancho last summer. And they might see Sancho as a cost-effective option this year, after missing out on Crysensio Summerville. Fiorentina have also been linked with Sancho this summer as they search for winger depth following the end of Jack Harrison’s and Manor Solomon’s loans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But Juventus currently lead the way for an individual Italian club as they look to recover from a sixth-placed finish and failure to qualify for the Champions League. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The sheer number of Italian sides interested in Sancho makes this a realistic destination, and Serie A ticks a lot of boxes: the move abroad he craves, a league he’s never played in, and the opportunity to stay and prove himself in a top-five league, potentially winning back favour in the England setup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wildcard: Head east for the money<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The path to the Arabian Peninsula is a well-trodden one for European stars these days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Right now, Joao Felix, Mateo Retegui, Theo Hernandez and the aforementioned Summerville are just a clutch of the prime-aged big-name European players plying their trade in the Saudi Pro League.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Divert your gaze to the lesser-heralded but still very lucrative Qatari Stars League and you have the likes of Aleksandar Mitrovic, Boubakary Soumare, Marco Verratti, Julian Draxler and Roberto Firmino knocking around. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Right now, the Saudi Pro League appears to be the more likely destination, though there are no front runners when it comes to clubs. The attraction is obvious. Sancho could earn absolutely eye-watering sums if he headed east, especially as a player still very much within his prime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The level of quality is the obvious drawback. But Saudi Arabia, in particular, has just enough to still feel like a test of Sancho’s mettle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sancho must now decide what is most important to him after the setbacks he’s suffered in the last few years: sustaining himself at the top or pulling the golden lever at this crucial stage in a short career.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Squawka Suggests: Turkey<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

But what about Turkey? Over the past few years, the Turkish Super Lig has become a place of second chances. This summer alone, Rafael Leao, Nathan Ake, Romelu Lukaku and Leandro Trossard have all made the move to Turkey. Among many other familiar names. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The main question will be, which club? Fenerbahce and Besiktas are the most-fancied Turkish sides, with the same goal. Both will be looking to depose Galatasaray at the top of Turkey — the Lions have won the last four league titles. They have already added to their attacks, but will think to do more to close the gap. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Perhaps the most important note is that the Turkish transfer window doesn’t close until the end of the week. So there is extra time for a deal to be done. <\/p>\n\n\n
