But he will be more than aware that if his side continue to slide down the Premier League table, that could quickly flip.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And with Leeds having the hardest next five fixtures based on league position, that is a distinct possibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Between 23rd November 23<sup>rd<\/sup> and 14th December, they will take on four of the top eight \u2013 and four of last season\u2019s top six. Aston Villa, Chelsea and Liverpool all Elland Road, with a trip to Manchester City wedged in between. Leeds have lost just one of their six games at Elland Road, where they have won eight of their 11 points. Farke\u2019s side also have a positive goal difference there, scoring six and conceding five goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By contrast, their only points on their travels \u2013 and three of their four goals \u2013 came at rock-bottom Wolverhampton Wanderers in late September. They\u2019ve shipped 15 with any notion of defensive solidity disappearing in the defeats at Brighton and Forest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Without being overly pessimistic and partly based on the 5-0 battering at Arsenal in August, their trip to the Etihad at the end of the month is near write-off. Keeping their goal difference down is the likely best-case scenario.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What happens at the Gtech Community Stadium could depend on what comes before. And preferably starting with the visit of Aston Villa after the international break. It might not be \u201cmust-win\u201d territory but it surely is \u201cmust not lose\u201d with a need to stop the rot and build confidence ahead of this tricky period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chelsea and Liverpool will be huge tests of Farke and his side but a result against Villa will set the tone. Outside of the visit of Manchester United in January, there is unlikely to be two better atmospheres at the stadium all season. Liverpool are a historic rival who have lost their last four away league games, and Chelsea an even more despised rival with a young side that could wilt in a raucous cauldron.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-a-lot-for-farke-to-think-about\">A lot for Farke to think about<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The next two weeks give the Leeds manager plenty of time to think, and there is a lot to think about. At Forest, as Sean Dyche made three subs just before the hour to change the flow of the game, Farke held back from any changes until five minutes after his side had gone behind. There was the strange decision to put Jack Harrison at left-back as Omari Hutchinson began to run the game from the right wing and the continued use of Brenden Aaronson over Daniel James is a bit peculiar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then there is Wilfried Gnonto, who is one of the few players in the Leeds squad capable of beating a defender. The Italian winger was left out of the squad at the City Ground despite completing two weeks of full training prior to the game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gnonto has played just one minute since the end of August due to a combination of a long-standing calf injury and a minor hernia surgery. The latter scored in fine style at Forest but that was his first from open play for the club and he has a far from clinical career record.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The fact the midfielder started up top on Sunday says less about him and more about the club\u2019s questionable summer business that has left Farke without a reliable goalscorer. Dominic-Calvert Lewin has scored just one goal and while he has been mostly fit, he is far from the player that made him a one-time England squad regular.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The squad as a whole does not feel equipped for the Premier League meaning January feels like a big month in their bid for survival. Will Farke make it that far?
