England’s final preparations for Euro 2024 got off to the best possible start as they beat Bosnia and Herzegovina 3-0 at St. James’ Park on Monday evening.<\/b><\/p>\n

Playing in Newcastle for the first time since 2006, the Three Lions were kept at bay for large periods by a stubborn Bosnian side. However, they finally found the breakthrough on the hour mark as Cole Palmer dispatched his 10th senior career penalty to open his national team account.<\/p>\n

Some substitutions injected much-needed impetus for England, who put Bosnia and Herzegovina to the sword with late goals from Trent Alexander-Arnold and Harry Kane. It’s a scoreline that, perhaps, flatters England, but also shows just how much quality and depth they have within their ranks. Especially with the likes of Jude Bellingham, Phil Foden and Bukayo Saka missing.<\/p>\n

    Jordan Pickford – 6\/10 –\u00a0<\/strong>Didn’t have a single save to make but was there to clean up when required.<\/p>\n

    Ezri Konsa – 8\/10 – <\/strong>Caused plenty of problems in the Bosnia and Herzegovina box from set pieces, winning the penalty for Palmer. Performed consistently all night despite spending time at right-back, left-back and centre-back. That versatility could see him called into the final squad that heads to Germany.<\/p>\n

    Lewis Dunk – 8\/10 –\u00a0<\/strong>Only misplaced one of his 64 attempted passes and caused a bit of havoc at the other end of the pitch from set pieces.<\/p>\n

    Marc Guehi – 5\/10 –\u00a0<\/strong>Endured a couple of nervous moments on the ball and almost cost England a goal with a loose pass shortly before half-time.<\/p>\n

    Kieran Trippier – 7\/10 –\u00a0<\/strong>If there were any pre-match nerves about to captaining his country in the stadium where he currently plays his club football, Trippier didn’t show it. Crisp and clean on the ball and did what he needed to defensively.<\/p>\n

    Trent Alexander-Arnold – 9\/10 –\u00a0<\/strong>Looked completely at home in midfield once again, controlling the tempo and switching the play with pinpoint accuracy. Volleyed home a much-deserved fourth senior England goal late on to cap off an excellent display.<\/p>\n
