After a chaotic, helter-skelter showdown at Elland Road between Manchester United and Leeds United, the visitors ran out 4-2 victors to settle another frantic derby.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The visitors took the ascendency in the opening exchanges and found themselves 2-0 by the halfway stage, looking comfortable and relatively unthreatened. Goals from Harry Maguire and Bruno Fernandes separated the sides after 45 minutes.<\/p>\n

But in a match that seemed determined to abandon logic and order, the momentum shifted shortly after the restart, with Marcelo Bielsa rewarded for shuffling the pack at the interval and throwing 19-year-old Joe Gelhardt and talisman Raphinha into the inferno.<\/p>\n

Two goals in the space of a minute turned the game on its head, with Rodrigo catching David de Gea cold with a cross-cum-shot that curled into the top corner, before Raphinha vindicated his manager’s decision to introduce him at the break with a tap-in equaliser seconds after.<\/p>\n

For all the energy exhausted in a high-octane encounter between two sides who encapsulate the intense pressing brands of their respective managers — Ralf Rangnick the so-called ‘Godfather of Gegenpress’, and Bielsa the ‘murder-ball’ obsessor — there was certainly no shortage of quality.<\/p>\n
