FPL Gameweek 28 rolls into view as the Premier League season heads towards its business end.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Only eight teams play in Gameweek 29, so you should definitely keep that in mind when putting your team together for the coming weekend – especially if you’ve already blown your coupons. Fulham, Leeds, Brighton, Newcastle, West Ham, Arsenal, Aston Villa and Tottenham are the players you should be prioritising with that skeleton GW on the horizon.<\/p>\n

Whether you\u2019re weighing up using your Wildcard, Free Hit, or simply want to take a punt on one or two of our suggestions, we\u2019ve pulled together an 11-man team of players you should be considering for Gameweek 28. Our captaincy suggestion this week is Jamie Vardy.<\/p>\n

Opta\u2019s stats power the FPL game and help steer the Sky Bet market so what better way to figure out how to build your squad this week? Be warned, Friday\u2019s deadline is at 18:30 ahead of Aston Villa’s trip to Newcastle (20:00 kick-off).<\/p>\n

Emiliano Martinez:<\/strong> Aston Villa have three straight favourable fixtures. Only Ederson has kept more clean sheets than Martinez’s 14 this term and no goalkeeper has more than the Villa man’s 149 points on FPL. Martinez to keep a clean sheet against Newcastle 6\/4.\u00a0<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

\"FPL<\/p>\n

Ezri Konsa:<\/strong> We’ve covered Villa’s defensive strength, so where can you pick up attacking returns in Dean Smith’s back line? It’s a toss-up between Konsa and Mings, who have both scored two goals so far this season. Mings, who also has one assist, will cost you 0.8 more, but Konsa has a better knack of being in the right place in the opposition box (five big chances). Konsa to score any time against Newcastle 15\/2.\u00a0<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

Lewis Dunk:<\/strong> Brighton should be confident of some clean sheet points over the next two GWs, with Southampton and Newcastle up next. At the other end, only Leandro Trossard and Neal Maupay have had more shots for Brighton than Dunk (25) this season. He is their second-top scorer both in terms of goals (3) and FPL points (85) this season. Half Time correct score against Newcastle 0-0 is 6\/4.<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Aaron Cresswell:<\/strong> The top-scoring defender on FPL this season with 133 points. Cresswell has picked up 10 assists and 20 bonus points across the 2020\/21 campaign. He’s also played more key passes (41) than anyone else in the West Ham squad and it’s surely only a matter of time before he scores one himself, with more shots (16) than any of his defensive colleagues. Cresswell to score any time against United is 16\/1.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

Kevin De Bruyne:<\/strong> Created eight chances against Manchester United and scored twice against Southampton in DGW27. Despite a recent absence, De Bruyne has played nearly double the key passes (70) of the next most creative City player, and no team-mate has had more shots on target than the Belgian. De Bruyne to score a brace against Fulham is 25\/1.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

Tomas Soucek:<\/strong> We would suggest Jesse Lingard, but he will be absent as West Ham go up against his parent club. That will put the onus on his team-mates to provide attacking returns. Only Michail Antonio has had more shots on target than Soucek this season, while the midfielder is the leading scorer at the club and among the top three chance creators. Soucek to score any time against Manchester United is 3\/1.\u00a0<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

Gareth Bale:<\/strong> Whisper it quiety, but *Gareth Bale is back*. He has six goal involvements across the last three GWs (four goals, two assists) and has more goals against Arsenal (five) than against any other Premier League side. The Welshman also has more goals per 90 (0.9) than any player in the Premier League this season. Gareth Bale and Harry Kane both to score 8\/1.\u00a0<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang:<\/strong> Despite having a quieter campaign, Aubameyang is still Arsenal’s joint-top scorer with nine Premier League goals this season. He also ranks among Arsenal’s biggest chance creators and is behind only Alexandre Lacazette for assists and shots on target this season. He is the only Arsenal player to break the 100-point barrier on FPL this season. Aubameyang to score a brace against Spurs 8\/1.\u00a0<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

\"HarryHarry Kane:<\/strong> The England captain loves playing Arsenal. He has 11 goals and two assists in 12 north London derbies and heads into the fixture off the back of a massive 19-point haul in GW27. Only Mohamed Salah, who has played twice more, has scored more than Kane’s 16 goals this season. Gareth Bale and Harry Kane both to score 8\/1.\u00a0<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

Ollie Watkins:<\/strong> If you fancy Villa to grab some goals in the coming weeks, Watkins is your man. He has more goals (10) and has taken more shots (73) than any of his team-mates, while only Jack Grealish has made more key passes. Watkins to score first against Newcastle 4\/1.\u00a0<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

Jamie Vardy:<\/strong> Leicester don’t play in GW29 but it’s worth drafting in Vardy solely for the visit of the Blades this weekend. If you buy into *the narrative*, he’s a boyhood Wednesday fan and has a decent scoring record against Sheffield United. The Foxes frontman, who is also on penalties, ranks highest for goals, assists and shots among his Leicester team-mates. Vardy to score and Leicester to win 2-1 is 20\/1.\u00a0<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

Who\u2019s it time to get rid of\/avoid?<\/h2>\n

Danny Ings:<\/strong> Muscle injury suffered in the win over Sheffield United. Expected to be out until April.<\/p>\n

Jack Grealish:<\/strong> On the brink of a return from injury, but won’t be fit in time to feature at Newcastle. Expected back March 21.<\/p>\n
