October is on the horizon and it’s at this stage of a campaign that business truly starts to pick up.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Pre-season and transfer dealings are now a distant memory and teams have started to gel knowing full well the season is a marathon, not a sprint.<\/p>\n

Hence why no one is getting carried away with championship aspirations; this part of the year is about laying the foundations for a tilt.<\/p>\n

With that being said, two clubs across Europe’s top five leagues have caught the imagination. Even though we’ve not seen them play 10 matches, they are doing their chatting on the pitch.<\/p>\n

Liverpool and Inter Milan \u2013 out of 10 unbeaten sides in those aforementioned top divisions \u2013 hold an impressive 100% record after six and four matches respectively.<\/p>\n

But how do they compare in the sea of unconquered teams?<\/p>\n

Perfect start<\/strong><\/h2>\n

To have one club across Europe’s ‘big five’ leagues \u2013 which consists of 98 teams in total \u2013 with a perfect record as September comes to an end would still be impressive given how competitive these top divisions have become down the years. But we are currently dealing with two; one slightly more surprising than the other.<\/p>\n

Liverpool: played six, won six, scored 17, conceded five.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Liverpool, it’s worth remembering,\u00a0 failed to win eight times last season, losing just once as they missed out on the Premier League title by a solitary point. Jurgen Klopp’s men are the early pacesetters in England’s top flight, winning six from six, but it hasn’t been smooth sailing. The Reds have bagged 17 goals, which sees them behind second-placed Man City (27), whilst conceding five goals, making their defence joint best with Leicester City.<\/p>\n

Inter Milan:\u00a0played five, won five, scored 10, conceded one.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

If the defending European champions’ start comes as no surprise, then how do you explain Inter Milan, who have been in the doldrums of late. They waved goodbye to Luciano Spalletti in the summer before saying hello to serial winner Antonio Conte who couldn’t have got off to a better start.<\/p>\n

The Nerazzurri have played two fewer games than Liverpool but have won them all, including a recent derby against city rivals AC Milan. Inter have registered nine goals, joint third-highest in the league whilst only conceding once which is three fewer than Juventus, who are breathing down their necks.<\/p>\n
