Aubameyang still in &#8216;Golden boot&#8217; contention<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Signed from Borussia Dortmund last season, the forward didn&#8217;t take too long to adapt to the pace of the Premier League. Now almost at the end of his first full season in England, everyone has a better idea of what the Arsenal striker can do.<\/p>\n<p>This afternoon, he looked lively and it didn&#8217;t take too long for him to register his name on the scoresheet, calmly converting Arsenal&#8217;s penalty in the opening 10 minutes of the game.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1085822\" src=\"https:\/\/media.squawka.com\/images\/en\/2019\/04\/24185914\/PA-42413151.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" srcset=\"https:\/\/media.squawka.com\/images\/en\/2019\/04\/24185914\/PA-42413151.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/media.squawka.com\/images\/en\/2019\/04\/24185914\/PA-42413151-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/media.squawka.com\/images\/en\/2019\/04\/24185914\/PA-42413151-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/media.squawka.com\/images\/en\/2019\/04\/24185914\/PA-42413151-66x44.jpg 66w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>That was his 20th goal of the campaign, leaving him level with both Sergio Aguero and Sadio Mane but still two behind Liverpool&#8217;s starman Mohamed Salah with one game remaining.<\/p>\n<p>Aubamayang could have cut that gap in half had he converted a chance from eight-yards out late on but he volleyed the ball wide of Brighton &amp; Hove Albion&#8217;s goal.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>3. Xhaka can&#8217;t resist a penalty<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Today was a vitally important game for Arsenal, who could not afford to pick up anything but maximum points in their pursuit of Champions League football.<\/p>\n<p>Their form of late hasn&#8217;t been great but that has been partly down to individual errors, with today&#8217;s fool-guy being Granit Xhaka.
