Liverpool<\/a> have been splashing the cash in the 2025 summer transfer window.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Reds have spent \u00a3291million so far, including breaking their club-record signing of Florian Wirtz. The German joined Liverpool from Bayer Leverkusen for \u00a3116m (including add-ons).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s the first time Liverpool have paid over \u00a3100m for a player. They’re the fourth English club to do so, joining Chelsea<\/a>, Arsenal<\/a> and Manchester City<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Liverpool have also paid \u00a379m for Hugo Ekitike, and were linked with another big-money move for Alexander Isak — though that one doesn’t look likely to go through.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But how have Liverpool’s most-expensive signings got on so far? We’ve taken a look at the top 10 and judged whether each one was a hit or a miss.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    10. Diogo Jota<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Verdict: <\/strong>HIT<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Diogo Jota was one of Liverpool\u2019s most astute signings this decade. Signed as a squad option, he soon usurped Divock Origi in the rotation and has even had a knack for scoring in big moments. The Portuguese forward gave Liverpool good bang for their buck, with 65 goals in 182 appearances so far. Jota sadly died in July 2025 at the age of 28.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    9. Luis Diaz<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Verdict: <\/strong>HIT<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Joining halfway through the season, Luis Diaz hit the ground running at Liverpool, logging seven goal contributions in 13 Premier League games. His early months were electric as he stepped up during an injury crisis, while Liverpool chased an unprecedented quadruple. After that, it was a mix of the brilliant and the mediocre, largely because injuries disrupted his rhythm. He managed 41 goals in 148 games enjoyed his best goalscoring season in the Premier League (13) in 2024-25. But he has now left for Bayern Munich, having expressed a desire to leave last summer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    8. Naby Keita<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In the summer of 2023, Keita left as a free agent, departing with medals but never the feeling he fulfilled his potential at Anfield.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Dominik Szoboszlai\u2019s Liverpool career began with real promise. But fast forward over a year-and-a-half later, and questions still remain about his best role. With the arrival of Wirtz, Szoboszlai\u2019s position at the club looks under serious threat. This could still turn around, but for the fee paid, more should be expected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

    Signed at a world-record fee for a goalkeeper at the time, Alisson\u2019s arrival offered a solution to Liverpool’s long-standing goalkeeping struggles. In 298 games for the Reds, the Brazilian has logged 127 clean sheets, while taking home two Premier League Golden Glove awards. After Manuel Neuer, Alisson played a pivotal role in redfining the responsibilites of a goalkeeper.
