Wilfried Zaha next club: Arsenal 10/1 to sign Crystal Palace man, PSG favourites
Wilfried Zaha has made no secret of his desire to play Champions League football amid speculation linking him with a move away from Crystal Palace.
The Ivory Coast international was left out of Palace’s squad for the defeat against Manchester City on Sunday after picking up a knock in Thursday’s 0-0 draw at Arsenal.
Roy Hodgson said: “We’re perhaps fortunate that with only a couple of days between the games that we didn’t pick up even more injuries like the one Wilf picked up.”
The 4-0 defeat at City gave Palace a flavour of life without Zaha, who has just over two years remaining on his current contract at Selhurst Park.
And the 28-year-old has earned plenty of admiring glances with his form this season, scoring eight and assisting two in the first half of the campaign.
Speaking earlier this month, Roy Hodgson said: “There has been so much speculation regarding Wilf over the years that I tend to let those concerns disappear, as they often do.
“Wilf’s good and it doesn’t surprise me that there’s clubs out there who would like to sign him, but a lot of things have to be put in place before a player leaves a club.”
In 2018, Zaha discussed a move to Arsenal with then manager Unai Emery, but nothing materialised. He has since been the subject of a bid from Everton which fell some way short of Palace’s valuation.
Mikel Arteta recently labelled Zaha an “exceptional” talent but refused to be drawn on speculation linking the Palace star with a move to Arsenal (10/1 to sign Zaha this month).
Reports have also linked the forward with Paris Saint-Germain (6/1) and AC Milan in the January window, but it remains to be seen if he will clinch a transfer this month.
