West Ham vs Wolves predicted XIs: Team news as Ben Johnson could return to starting XI after contract extension

A European-place six-pointer unfolds at the London Stadium on Sunday at 2pm (UK time), as Champions League-chasing West Ham and Wolves collide in the capital.
West Ham and Wolves are just four and six points off fourth-place Manchester United respectively, so the door has just been left ajar for a potential top four shake-up. Both clubs have put themselves in a strong position to claim this season’s unofficial ‘best of the rest’ crown, a feat so regularly achieved by David Moyes during his Everton days, making this a must-not-lose contest more than anything else.

West Ham team news vs Wolves: Coufal undergoes successful surgery
Vladimir Coufal had a “succesful” hernia operation earlier this week, as confirmed by the club, with Moyes revealing in his pre-match Wolves press conference that his defensive stalwart will be out “for a few weeks”. Ben Johnson recently extended his contract at the club until 2024 and has just fallen out of the side in recent weeks, but he should be set to return to the fold here, with Coufal set for a spell on the sidelines.
Elsewhere, Angelo Ogbonna remains sidelined with an ACL injury, while Arthur Masuaku is also out of action. Moyes also confirmed that Andriy Yarmolenko has been granted compassionate leave because of the ongoing crisis in Ukraine.

Having recently returned from a long-term knee injury, Pedro Neto will also be in his manager’s ear to get a run out in the first team.
