Josh King is now odds-on to join West Ham this month as David Moyes continues his search for a new striker.

The Hammers were planning to enter the market for an attacker in January, even before the sale of Sabastien Haller to Ajax exacerbated their shortcomings at the top end of the field.

King was 6/4 to move to London Stadium last week but he has shortened to 10/11 for the move with the market changing as West Ham’s options narrow.

With his Bournemouth contract expiring at the end of the season, King is now free to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs but the odds suggest a domestic move is more likely.

Josh King graphicMoussa Dembele, who has been linked with the Hammers in recent days, appears to be closing in on a move to Atletico Madrid.

“It’s still not confirmed, but it’s very advanced,” Diego Simeone told reporters.

“I’m going to turn my head towards the game, which is what interests me, and when there’s something [on Dembele], if there is something, I’ll give an opinion.”

The Mirror claim Olivier Giroud (now 5/1 to join West Ham this month) is top of Moyes’ wishlist. Giroud’s Stamford Bridge deal expires at the end of the season and Chelsea could be tempted into a deal for the Frenchman to avoid losing him for free in six months.

Marko Arnautovic meanwhile has been linked with a return to the London Stadium after thriving under Moyes during the Scot’s first spell in charge. While reports suggest West Ham aren’t pushing for a reunion, Sky Bet price such a move at 9/2.
