It’s deja vu in east London as David Moyes returns to West Ham for his second stint in charge of the club after Manuel Pellegrini was sent packing over the weekend.
The experienced Scot was appointed in November 2017 after the club endured a difficult start to the season; two years on and it’s groundhog days for the Hammers as the former Manchester United boss has once again signed up for a relegation dogfight.
Moyes’ remit is simple: survival. On paper, this looks a shrewd acquisition by the club’s polarising board, as Moyes comes to West Ham with a wealth of Premier League experience and a vast knowledge of the current playing squad.
There have been some changes to the personnel since Moyes left in May 2018, but he will have a solid understanding of what he’s got to work with.
But, can the same be said of those on the terraces? During Moyes’ 19-month absence the likes of Felipe Anderson and Sebastien Haller have pitched up, while Marko Arnautovic and Javier Hernandez have left, so the Scot can perhaps be forgiven for not getting straight back into the groove.
However, there will be no such excuses for supporters of a claret and blue persuasion as we put match-going fans to the ultimate test.
With questions like who played for San Lorenzo, Espanyol and Man City before joining West Ham? And who managed to score the most goals in the Premier League for Manuel Pellegrini as West Ham manager? We wanted to know if loyal Hammers could secure the bragging rights in the capital.
