It’s a battle of claret and blue on Monday night as West Ham host Aston Villa at the London Stadium at 8pm (UK time).
David Moyes’ men have climbed to 11th in the table with a total of 14 points after a run of just one defeat in their last six Premier League games, which includes draws against Tottenham and Manchester City, as well as consecutive wins over Fulham and Sheffield United in recent weeks.
However, just ahead of the Hammers in ninth on 15 points are Aston Villa. Dean Smith’s men made a scintillating start to the season, winning each of their first four Premier League games, including that 7-2 win over Liverpool. Since then, they’ve beaten Arsenal 3-0 but lost their other three matches.
Whoever can come out on top in this game will surely fancy their chances of a run at European qualification, although four of the last six meetings between these two have ended in a draw, so expect a close-run affair.

Player to watch: Jack Grealish (Aston Villa)
As has been the case throughout the past two seasons for Aston Villa, all eyes will be on Jack Grealish when they roll up at the London Stadium on Monday night.
Now a five-time (and deserved) England international, the 25-year-old seems to have elevated his game to whole new levels at the start of this campaign, notching four goals and five assists in just eight Premier League games, while netting another goal in Villa’s 3-1 EFL Cup win over Burton Albion earlier in the season.
Jack Grealish → Man City? 🧐
— Squawka Football (@Squawka) November 23, 2020
Grealish ranks sixth across the entire Premier League for chances created (21) and take-ons completed (21) while he has once again been the most-fouled player in the English top-flight so far in 2020/21.
As a result of his incredible rise, Pep Guardiola has reportedly identified Grealish as one of his top targets, with his Man City team still suffering from the departure of David Silva in the summer.
Grealish would undoubtedly offer the Citizens a superb ball-carrying and creative option which might be just what Guardiola needs to get his stuttering side back on track.
For now, though, the Villa captain will be purely focused on delivering three points for his boyhood club against West Ham.
