Vinicius Junior believes Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe will join him at Real Madrid in a “short time”.

The 2018 World Cup winner scored 39 goals in 43 games last season, helping PSG win another Ligue 1 title, but has recently been linked with a move away from the Parisians.

Mbappe to Real Madrid? Five key things to know…

  1. At just 20, Mbappe has already won a World Cup and a number of French league titles.
  2. He has scored a combined 104 goals for club and country to date.
  3. Mbappe recently said he wants to play with “more responsibility”.
  4. Vinicius Jr believes the Frenchman’s future belongs with him at Real Madrid.
  5. Los Blancos have already signed Eden Hazard, Luka Jovic, Ferland Mendy and Eder Militao this summer.

Real have emerged as favourites to win Mbappe’s signature, although the club have already spent heavily this summer, securing Eden Hazard, Luka Jovic, Ferland Mendy and Eder Militao.

But that hasn’t stopped young Brazilian sensation Vinicius talking up Mbappe’s chances of joining him in Madrid.

In an interview with Telefoot, he said: “The future of Mbappe is at Real Madrid. In a short time, I think he will come.

“Of course I know that all Real Madrid fans dream of Mbappe. Not just Madrid, but fans of all teams.

“We really do not know each other, but we talk to each other on Instagram and send messages. I admire him a lot, he has already won many titles and it would be very good if he comes here.”

Zinedine Zidane has massively overhauled his squad after seeing Real Madrid finish behind arch-rivals Barcelona and Atletico Madrid in La Liga, while the club also crashed out of the Champions League at the round-of-16 stage to Ajax.

However, thanks to their massive outlay so far, reports in Spain suggest the French tactician could make Mbappe his top target in future transfer windows.

PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi, meanwhile, has recently insisted he is “200 per cent” sure Mbappe will remain with the Ligue 1 champions.

“I will not let go of this ‘crazy’ player,” he said. “He wants to be more involved in our project to grow with the team, the club.

“Will he still be at PSG next year? I am not 100% sure but 200%.”
