Valencia vs Alaves build-up, previous line-ups & injury news:
Two wins across seven matches since March began has seen Valencia establish themselves in the lower mid-table places and worryingly sitting just eight points above the relegation zone with six matches remaining this season. Javi Gracia’s men are currently on a four-game winless streak (two defeats and two draws) though are unbeaten in their previous seven matches at the Mestalla (four wins and three draws).
Sitting two places and five points below Valencia are relegation-threatened Alavés who head into this latest round seeking a third La Liga win on the bounce. Javi Calleja’s side have also gone three games unbeaten (seven points from nine available) subsequently giving themselves a great chance of staving off elimination from Spain’s top division.
- Valencia (vs Osasuna): Doménech; Molina, Diakhaby, Paulista*, Gayà; Musah, Racic, Wass, Cheryshev; Guedes, Gameiro.
- Alaves (vs Villarreal): Pacheco; Navarro, Laguardia, Lejeune*, Aguirregabiria; Peleteiro, Pina, Battaglia, Rioja; Pérez, Joselu.

The visitors also have their banned duo in the guise of Florian Lejeune and Manu Garcia. Alaves must also do without Iñigo Córdoba (knee), Ruben Duarte (foot), Abdel Abqar (foot) and Rodrigo Ely (ligament).

Player to watch: Kevin Gameiro (Valencia)
A consolation effort at Osasuna last time out saw Kévin Gameiro move onto four La Liga goals for the 2020/21 campaign. All but one of those strikes have come on the road but the 13-time French international couldn’t ask for better opposition this weekend to rediscover his Mestalla scoring touch. In seven previous league appearances against Alaves — whilst representing Atlético Madrid and Los Che — he’s managed to net three times with two of those coming at home. In this season’s reverse fixture, which ended in a 2-2 stalemate, Gameiro created Manu Vallejo’s goal which halved the deficit.
