USA vs Jamaica build-up, previous line-ups & injury news:
USA had few issues making it out of Group B, in which Gregg Berhalter’s side topped the table in perfect fashion, winning all three of their contests, including a 1-0 win over neighbours Canada on the final matchday. The Stars and Stripes have made it to the final in eight of the previous 10 Gold Cups, dating all the way back to 2002, so they will be feeling sure of themselves and confident of eliminating Jamaica to set up a fixture with competition guests Qatar.
However, Jamaica are certainly no walkovers in the North American tournament. Under Theodore Whitmore, the Reggae Boyz followed up their appearance in the 2015 final by making the showpiece again in 2017. Yet to win the competition, Jamaica will be eyeing up another path to the final two and finally collecting that ever-elusive trophy. But, first they must claim the scalp of USA, and having already tasted defeat to Costa Rica in the groups, Whitmore knows this will not be a walk in the park.
- USA (vs Canada): Turner; Moore, Zimmerman, Sands, Robinson, Vines; Acosta, Busio, Lletget; Zardes, Dike.
- Jamaica (vs Costa Rica): Barnes; Fisher, Lowe, Mariappa, Lawrence; Williams, Johnson; Turgott, Flemmings, Magee; Gray.

Player to watch: Daryl Dike (USA)
The 21-year-old Oklahoman is a frighteningly good prospect across the Atlantic. On these shores, Barnsley fans were afforded the chance to view his talents last season, as the powerful centre-forward moved to Oakwell on loan from Orlando City and guided The Tykes to an unexpected appearance in the play-offs. He netted nine goals in just 19 Championship appearances, but has since returned stateside, and it is now arguably a case of when and not if Dike jets back across the pond and turns out in a top European league. The burgeoning talent has managed to translate his club form to the international stage, so far scoring three goals across his six caps, including two in this year’s Gold Cup, making him USA’s top scorer in the competition. Against the experience of captain Adrian Mariappa, who enjoyed spells in the Premier League with Watford, Reading and Crystal Palace, Dike’s combination of brains and brawn will be needed to get through the veteran centre-back and fire the nation to a potential semi-final showdown.
