The internet reacts to stunning strikes from Saka and Martinelli as Arsenal beat Newcastle 2-0

In an entertaining afternoon of football, Arsenal beat Newcastle 2-0 thanks to two stunning goals.
The Gunners hammered Newcastle in the opening period of the match but couldn’t manage to break their opponents down. Then two goals in a 10 minute period in the second-half won the day for the Gunners.
Bukayo Saka opened the scoring in the first-half and then after he had to leave the field because of injury, his replacement Gabriel Martinelli doubled Arsenal’s lead and secured the victory.
The result wasn’t a surprise given the form of both teams but the sheer quality of Arsenal’s two goals is what was notable, and Twitter most certainly agreed as plenty of comments came flying in for both strikes.

Claim HereFIFA streamer NepentheZ was immediately overjoyed and lavished Saka with the highest praise.
SAKA MY GOAT

Once he calmed down, however, he also added very observantly that the often frustrated Nuno Tavares’ assist was equally as beautiful. The way the Portuguese full-back slipped the ball in for Saka was delightful.
That's an absolutely beautiful goal. Insane Tav assist, what a guy. When he's not trying to score from 40 yards he's half decent!

Reddit agreed in Reddit’s usual hyperbolic fashion.
Many people noticed that Bukayo Saka celebrated his goal by mimicking former team-mate Mesut Ozil’s trademark celebration. A shot-out to a former mentor, perhaps?

Saka loves to do the business against Newcastle, and that was pointed out by people.

Henry Winter was especially impressed by Saka as a player, waxing lyrical about the young man’s qualities before, naturally, speaking well of the goal.
Such a good player. Great finish by Saka. Good movement, persistence, technique. Finally a goal. Neat assist from Tavares. It only takes a minute to score. #afc #ARSNEW

Saka’s goal spread at the Emirates in the Premier League is perfectly balanced, as all things should be.
Bukayo Saka has scored five Premier League goals at the Emirates:

Gabriel Martinelli volleyed Arsenal into a 2-0 lead with his second touch less than two minutes after coming on.

Football analyst Jasmine Baba celebrated Martinelli getting back to what he does best, i.e. scoring.

Advanced stats guru Mike Goodman was mostly impressed with Martinelli’s movement.
Martinelli’s movement to break the defensive line (and arsenals team positioning to accommodate it) before making the run is pretty nifty.

So many were impressed with the way the goal recalled the overflowing quality that ran through Arsenal at their peak under Arsene Wenger.
That Arsenal goal came out of 2004, what a wonderful something.

Takehiro Tomiyasu’s cross for Martinelli’s goal meant that both Arsenal strikes had been set-up by their full-backs.

But the final word should go to Aaron West, who summed the genius of the goal up with a gif.
