We are almost one third of the way through the January transfer window – but plenty of Premier League clubs have not got out of the starting blocks.

Of course, they are likely to be working away in the background in an attempt to get deals over the line – or ensure that their deadwood is cut adrift at the first available opportunity.

However, done deals have been few and far between in England’s top tier – and the rest of  Europe – thus far.

Liverpool‘s signing of Takumi Minamino remains the most high profile on these shores while a flurry of short-term loan deals have also been agreed. But records have not tumbled and coups have not been completed.

So, with the clock now very much ticking – and a top-four place seemingly there for the taking – rumours involving the biggest clubs are beginning to intensify.

Chelsea can finally spend again, Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal require major surgery and Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola may be tempted to dip his toe into the market to get the reigning champions back on track.

Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha has a new agent, Mario Gotze’s time at Borussia Dortmund could be coming to an end and Neymar might just be setting himself up for another saga.

The majority of fans are desperate for their respective clubs to get new players through the door and we’ve taken a look at the latest transfer gossip to help you get your head around what could happen between now and February.
