It’s been a long 517 days but Spurs have done it. Daniel Levy has finally been convinced to sanction some new signings.

Jack Clarke and Tanguy Ndombele have both joined the north Londoners, although the former will spend next season on loan at Championship club Leeds.

However, not everybody’s transfer business this summer is going as smoothly.

Manchester United have got a couple of new faces in the Old Trafford door, but their interest in Leicester City defender Harry Maguire is anything but straightforward.

The Red Devils have reportedly stumped up a £70m bid for the England defender as they look to strengthen their flimsy defence.

However, such a sum falls short of the Foxes’ valuation of Maguire, which means United will likely need to up their offer if they are to add the 26-year-old to their ranks.

While on the subject of submitting low bids, Arsenal have been accused of lowballing Crystal Palace in their pursuit of Wilfried Zaha.

The Ivory Coast international is arguably the best player outside of the Premier League top six and it looks like a fee north of £40m will be required to take him across the capital to north London.

Meanwhile, Antoine Griezmann’s release clause is reported to have dropped, leading to suggestions that his proposed move to Barcelona could progress quickly.
