Arsenal new boy Kieran Tierney broke a training record held by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang during his medical.

The 22-year-old Scottish left-back finally completed a protracted £25m move from boyhood club Celtic to the Gunners on deadline day.

However, due to his ongoing recovery from a double hernia operation, it will be awhile before he debuts under Unai Emery.

But despite this Tierney passed his check-up, prior to penning a five-year contract, with flying colours. Firstly, in the vertical-leap-test, he produced 50cms off the ground vertical jump with his hands-on-hips.

When told this was only 4cm away from Aubameyang’s best the Scottish defender smiled and said: “I will try and beat that”.

On his second attempt he pulled off a 55cm standing jump, smashing the Gabonese marksman record by a solitary cm.

As impressive as this was, his on-field contribution has Emery excited.
