Thomas Muller offers utterly bizarre response when quizzed on Ealing Haaland’s transfer links to Bayern Munich

Thomas Muller has expressed his views on the potential of Erling Haaland joining Bayern Munich in the summer… and he doesn’t seem too keen on the idea.

The Norwegian is one of the most-coveted strikers on the planet right now — if no the most coveted — with every elite club worth their salt reportedly in the mix to try and lure him away from Borussia Dortmund when the season finishes.

One of those clubs is Bayern Munich, who have certainly not shied away from plundering the ranks of BVB in the past, with current star striker, Robert Lewandowski, one of the most high-profile case studies.

The Bavarians have now been touted to once again do some shopping in the Ruhr district this summer, but club legend Muller doesn’t seem overly impressed with the prospect of forming an attacking partnership with Haaland.

In an interview with German publication Bild, Muller issued a very odd response when questioned on his views about the possibility of “feeding” Haaland next season, simply responding: “I prefer to feed my horses and rabbits.”

There can be no question that the potential of Muller “feeding” Haaland is a tantalising one — no matter the German’s views — as he is a creative grandmaster, proving a playmaker of unparalleled proportions across the continent in the last few seasons.

The 32-year-old has registered more assists than any other player across Europe’s top five leagues since the start of the 2017/18 season (78), and is one of only two players alongside Lionel Messi (60) to hit 60 or more in that timeframe.

It is no wonder then that Lewandowski is a striker of such ferocious goalscoring ability given the door-unlocking form of his team-mate.

Given that Haaland boasts similar net-busting attributes to Bayern’s current No. 9, he would certainly flourish in a system with Muller dovetailing him in attack.
