‘Neymar has to go to Chelsea’ – Thiago Silva wants reunion with PSG and Brazil star

Chelsea defender Thiago Silva is keen to link up once again with compatriot Neymar at Stamford Bridge.

The 30-year-old Brazilian forward has been reportedly associated with a move away from Paris Saint-Germain whom he initially joined from Barcelona in 2017 for a world record fee (£190m).



Very few clubs would be able to afford his wages, Chelsea being one of them, and Thiago — who played alongside Neymar at PSG — believes he should jump on the Eurostar and reunite with him in west London.

“He has to go to Chelsea,” he told JC. “If it happens, it will be for the best. He needs no comments… So far, I don’t know anything, but I hope it comes to fruition.”

A graduate of Santos’ academy, Neymar bagged 70 goals across 134 goals before leaving Brazil for the Camp Nou where he’d forge a lethal front-three with Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi, it was there the native of Mogi das Cruzes lifted the European Cup subsequently joining an exclusive group of players to have won that prize and the Copa Libertadores.

Across four seasons Neymar featured 186 times for Barça ultimately netting 105 times while creating a further 76 goals. He would regularly feature in the Ballon d’Or vote but nonetheless stay in Messi’s shadow which played a significant role in his move to PSG where he’s enjoyed regular domestic success.

A four-time Ligue 1 champion Neymar has currently made 184 appearances for the Parisians in all competitions, scoring on 100 occasions while producing 60 assists, however injuries have been a common theme during his spell in the French capital.
