The Open golf tee times 2022: Final round schedule and pairings confirmed
Rory McIlroy and Viktor Hovland share the Open lead heading into Sunday’s fourth and final round at St Andrews.
The pair were tied for third overnight on Friday and both hit rounds of 66 to move clear of the field on -16 by the close of play on Saturday.
It means McIlroy is potentially just 18 holes away from ending his eight-year wait for a major — a barren spell spanning 29 majors for the 33-year-old — while Norwegian Hovland has never previously broken the top 10 at a major, twice finishing tied for 12th.
Closest challengers Cameron Smith and Cameron Young are four shots back, with South Korea’s Kim Si-woo and world number one Scottie Scheffler still within reach on -11.
