It’s seventh vs eighth in the 2022/23 EuroLeague, with reigning champions Anadolu Efes looking to consolidate their standing in the play-off positions and potentially win their third straight trophy, while Maccabi Tel Aviv are hoping to leapfrog the defending title-holders and give themselves a shot at silverware.

Anadolu Efes got off to a tricky start as they lost five of their opening seven matches, but Ergin Ataman’s side have since recovered to climb into the top eight and get their title defence back on track. Their win over Barcelona in November and recent 88-69 triumph against Panathinaikos suggest an upward trend.

Tel Aviv meanwhile aren’t the new kids on the title-winning block, but they are the third-most succesful club in EuroLeague history with six trophies. They will be determined to remind recent trophy-winners Anadolu Efes of their past successes on Thursday, with their last triumph now coming nearly nine years ago.

Oded Kattash’s Yellows were recently humbled by a struggling Virtus Segafredo Bologna, but the Israeli side bounced back to beat ALBA Berlin last week and will be hoping to build on that result. This is a huge test for both clubs.
