Steven Gerrard predicts the world’s next best player
Aston Villa head coach Steven Gerrard has named Bruno Fernandes as one of three current Premier League players he would have loved to play alongside.
The former Liverpool captain was appointed Villa manager in November 2021 ending a successful spell at Rangers where he lifted the Scottish championship. So far in his brief spell at the Birmingham-based club he’s faced Man Utd on two occasions with Fernandes registering a brace in a 2-2 draw at Villa Park.

Since joining United from Sporting in January 2020 he’s gone on to make 80 league appearances subsequently netting 35 goals while creating a further 25 for his teammates. The current two-time Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year was named into last season’s PFA Premier League Team of the Year and he’s widely considered to be United’s most important player.
