Stefanos Tsitsipas gets his Stuttgart Open underway on Thursday as preparation for Wimbledon begins. Hoping to stop Tsitsipas before he even reaches the quarter-finals is Richard Gasquet, who has won three ATP tournaments on grass, but two of those came in Nottingham almost 20 years ago (2005 and 2006). His most recent grass success was at the Rosmalen Championships in Netherlands five years ago, another 250 Series tournament, but Gasquet provides a tough test as a veteran.
The two-time Wimbledon semi-finalist was unseeded for the 2023 Stuttgart Open so entered at the first round, where he faced qualifier Christopher Eubanks. And the American offered little resistance to Gasquet, who won 7-6 (2), 6-4.
