Liverpool moved nine points clear at the top of the Premier League after a fine 3-1 victory over Manchester City at Anfield on Sunday.
Dubbed by many as the most important game of the season so far for both teams, it lived up to billing with the Reds showing just why they are the team to beat in 2019/20.
Pep Guardiola named a side missing several key players in defensive areas and it didn’t take Liverpool long to fully exploit the visitors’ weaknesses. Goals from Fabinho and Mohamed Salah put Jurgen Klopp’s side fully in command and a third strike from Sadio Mane just after half-time put the game beyond doubt.
Man City did pull a goal back, giving the final minutes some much-needed tension but few could argue about the final result.
