Tottenham fans will still be feeling pretty smug about the 2018/19 season, having reached the Champions League final and secured a fourth consecutive top-four finish.
However, with the new campaign just around the corner, the question of progress – and how to achieve it – is very much on the agenda in north London.
Spurs have solidified their place among the big boys and the summer transfer window represents an opportunity to send a statement of intent.
The purchase of Tanguy Ndombele for a club-record fee represents precisely that. The Frenchman was wanted by a host of top clubs and convincing him to choose Spurs should be seen as a coup.

A Champions League final appearance has been referred to as a glass ceiling moment for Spurs, but they certainly can’t afford to stand still this summer.
