Spurs vs Liverpool predictions Premier League GW22

Published: 17:38, 10 January 2020

Spurs host Liverpool during Premier League Gameweek 22, and all eyes will be on whether Jose Mourinho can get the better of Jurgen Klopp.

The Reds are running away with the Premier League at present and have not tasted defeat all season, while the north Londoners are firmly locked in a battle for a place in the top four having already lost on seven occasions this term.

Little looks like it can upset Liverpool’s momentum, but Mourinho loves nothing more than raining on someone else’s parade and the Portuguese will be determined to upset the apple cart on Saturday evening.

The hosts will be without Harry Kane, which means their attack will be significantly less potent than usual. Could a surprise selection be on the cards with Heung-min Son and Lucas Moura vying for a central role? Or will youngster Troy Parrott be considered?

One thing is clear: Mourinho’s men will need to pull something special out of the bag if they are to find a way past Virgil van Dijk and Co.

Elsewhere, Leicester face a Southampton side who are unbeaten in their last four games and appear to be pulling clear of a relegation battle, while Manchester City travel to Aston Villa.

Dean Smith’s side performed well against the Foxes in midweek but will need to raise their game even further if they are to secure a positive result against Pep Guardiola’s men.

Chelsea host Burnley at Stamford Bridge as they look to cement their place in the top four but Manchester United, who face strugglers Norwich City at Old Trafford, will be ready to seize on any potential slip-ups.

Arsenal will travel across the capital to take on Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park while Bournemouth have a classic relegation ‘six-pointer’ against Watford on their plate.
